#StartingOver

"This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person.  The old life is gone; a new life has begun!" - 2 Corinthians 5:17

My past haunted me for a VERY long time.

For years, there were sins that I committed that were the first thought I had each morning and the last thought as I drifted to sleep at night.  I found myself completely consumed by the person I used to be rather than the one I was striving to become.  See, when one tries to put their evil ways in the past, the enemy always seems to come knocking on the door with reasons why they "can't" or "won't" or "shouldn't."  The devil is patient.  He will wait til the very moment when you think you have everything figured out, only to send all the positive thoughts you have about yourself crashing down.

My way out was drinking, and let me tell you -- I was good at it.  It got to the point where I didn't care what kind of alcohol it was, where it came from, or whether it was hot or cold:  I wanted it.  I literally drank my cares away.  Then I met my now fiance, who basically told me I was stronger than the alcohol.  God sent him to help me cure this disease I had diagnosed myself with.  One night, he encouraged me to pour all of my alcohol down the sink, and that was that.

God sends these types of people into our lives on purpose.  It's no accident that you meet people who have a way of making you laugh or smile, these people are there for a reason.  And it's these kinds of people that will help you put the past where it belongs -- IN THE PAST.  Every single day, when you wake up, the Lord is giving you a chance to make a change, to be different than you were the day before...to be better.  With God's help, you can be anyone you want to be.  Live for Him and His purpose.  He will fill your mind with so many wonderful thoughts that there won't even be room for negativity.  Pray about it.  I promise having God in your life will get rid of every regret you've ever had, and He'll make the future more attractive than ever.
